We recently received an email from Stephen Rothwell inviting us to Australia to ride the Aussie version of the Tail of the Dragon. Stephen operates the Cairns Motorcycle Tours and claims part of the Gillies Tour rivals our Dragon. Twelve miles of this mountain road has 258 curves, nothing to sneeze at.

The tours offered by Stephen look like something out of a motorcyclist's fantasy book. Roads on these tours twist through dense tropical jungles, passing volcanoes and crocodile infested rivers and lakes, desolate beaches, magnificent rock cliffs, and 5000 foot peaks .... Nancy and I would probably take three or four days to tour just 100 miles of this scenic real estate.

They even have dragons here - Water Dragons that is.

Stephen offers several great tours, and Nancy and I will be taking them all when we get down under. Just hope it works into our plans soon.
