NOTE: Times and distances are approximate and vary depending upon location of particular accommodations, road conditions, and travel speeds. Be aware that travel times in mountain areas are much longer than you would expect by looking at the map or actual mileage. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND using automated mapping on the internet such as MAPQUEST or GOOGLE MAPS. Using such programs will many times take you to the wrong location on roads that are not well suited for street cycles. To find the Dragon on GPS mapping just plug in the zip 28771 and then look to the west on US129. The Dragon is at the Tennessee/North Carolina State line.
ALSO: Be sure to mention that you are riding a motorcycle and ask the details about access. Many vacation rentals in the area have steep driveways, gravel, and limited parking for trailers. It is also a good idea to arrive in the daylight.
If you wish to make your own arrangements there are a number of places to stay in Graham County and the surrounding counties. Be aware that on holidays and many summer weekends, accommodations are hard to come by and campgrounds are full. We advise that you make reservations if possible.
