BEFORE YOU RIDE purchase uninsured motorist coverage for your bike. This will cover you if the other party doesn’t have insurance.

STAY CALM after the accident. Check yourself and passenger for injuries and your bike for damage.

IMMEDIATELY CALL 911 to report the accident. Ask to have both law enforcement and an ambulance dispatched to the scene.

RESIST THE URGE TO CONFRONT the other driver about the accident or move the vehicles from the accident site.

CALL THE BOYD FIRM @ 865-246-1800 to schedule an immediate consultation. We’ll meet you at the hospital, you home, or your office.

NOTIFY YOUR INSURANCE AGENT about the accident.

MAKE NOTES of the driver’s name, tag number, VIN number, insurance company, and policy number. Get the names, addresses, and phone numbers of all witnesses. Record any statements made by the other driver or their passengers.

TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS of the scene, the vehicles, and the people present. Use a camera or cell phone.

TALK ONLY WITH the police on the scene, attorneys from The Boyd Firm, or your insurance agent. Do not admit it was your fault even if it was.

TAKE AN AMBULANCE to the hospital even if you don’t think you are hurt. Many injuries are not immediately noticed because of the rust of adrenaline. Take the ambulance …. It will be crucial later.
