We attended the New York International Motorcycle Show in January at the Jacob Javits Center. It was quite a contrast to our way of life back in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina.
The show was huge. We have never seen so many custom cycles in one place. All of the major players were there too.
The weather was cold with snow and even ice flows on the Hudson river for two days. But there were still a few riders that came to the show on their bikes. Luckily our ferry was able to crush through the ice.
We had a great time and really enjoyed the people and the activity of this metropolis. We stayed on the Hudson River shoreline in New Jersey and actually got to witness most of the US Air crash into the river.
We spent a moving hour in the Tribute to the WTC Visitor Center where there was not a dry eye in the house. This exhibit is one you will never forget.

Nancy got to run Central Park, one of her dreams. Earlier on the trip she ran the Washington Mall, Lincoln Memorial Loop and the museum steps in Philadelphia that Rocky made famous.

We watched much of the Airbus crash into the Hudson River from our hotel room. The plane is located just in front of the red boat. |

We visited the Tribute to the World Trade Center, a must stop for anyone visiting New York. Note the firehouse just down the sidewalk. Six crew members lost their lives on 911. |

One room in the Tribute to WTC wallpapered with photos of those who died here that day. |
